What do you charge per page?

We do not offer a per-page cost for a number of reasons. Each project is unique and requires unique solutions. Content varies and therefore page design for those different contents will vary. We prefer to speak with you about your needs and then determine what the best process and resources can meet those needs.

Do you offer coding (html, javascript, perl, etc.)?

We write our own html for prototyping purposes ONLY. This helps us ensure that the layouts will match the design as we intended. If you do not have in-house programming capabilities, we often partner with very competent web engineers who are capable of handling your coding needs and can help you obtain their services.

How much time does it take to design and build a site?

This is a very common question. As mentioned above, all projects are different and thus require different amounts of time resources. Other factors play into how long a project will take. Is the content ready to go? Is there a necessary strategy phase that must be completed before the design begins? Have you reserved your domain name yet? These are just a few of the questions that will control the length of a project from design to implementation.

Do you host sites as well as design them?

We do not maintain servers for our clients. We suggest that our clients either contract their own web hosting services or purchase servers for on-site hosting at their locations. Web hosting is a 24/7 process and should be handled by professionals with the appropriate training and experience to address the day-to-day needs of a web environment. We are happy to help any of our clients secure the appropriate web hosting services and can bridge the gap between their individual needs and the proper solution.

Do you host your own site and if not, who do you use?

We use the services of HostPro for our web hosting needs. There are many hosting companies to choose from. It is important to choose one that offers specific solutions for the types of things you want to be doing on your web site. Will you have special media needs (audio, video, etc)? How much storage space to you need? Will you offer an ecommerce solution on your site? Each of these types of questions will help you determine which company is best for you. We can help you find the right match.

Do you maintain web sites?

Currently, we do not offer maintenance services for web customers. This requires an on-going relationship that must be monitored and managed on a regular basis. Web maintenance is the single greatest expense for web sites that update their information regularly (daily, weekly, monthly). Sites whose information does not change frequently will not incur large maintenance costs. In those cases we can help to update your information on a separate contract for services.

Do I need to worry about older browser versions when designing my site?

This will depend on your user-audience. The more high-tech your user-base is, the less concern for older browsers exists. If your user-base is broad and somewhat unknown, then you WILL want to create a site that can be viewed on a broader range of browsers, platforms and versions.

Do I need Flash animations on my site?

Flash animations are an exciting way of presenting information. However, as with other technologies, adding Flash to your site is not always the most appropriate use of your resources in a given solution. Flash animations require a plug-in for them to be viewed on your a user's computer. If the plug-in does not exist or if your user does not have a multimedia-enable computer, they will not be able to experience your site to the degree you have intended. Plug-ins can be downloaded and installed from sites that offer these technologies, however, your connection to the internet will determine how long it will take not only to download the plug-in, but the resulting Flash animation as well. User experience can be made or broken with your particular media decisions. We can help you determine the best solution for you and your users' needs.
